Non-Prime Times

We all live in a time where many of our patients and parents work and have hectic schedules. We are sensitive to your needs and will do our best to offer creative scheduling for you. We would like to offer after school appointments for every visit, however, there are just not enough after school appointment times to go around. In order for each patient to have their fair share of "prime time" appointments, we would like to offer some suggestions:

  • Know the school schedule. You may then consider using the lunch hour, PE class or study hall.
  • Pick a different class each time.
  • Consider car-pooling with other students and/or friends.

In order for your orthodontic care and treatment to progress as smoothly and quickly as possible, it is important to remember that:

  • We usually need to see you every 6-7 weeks.
  • Certain procedures are ONLY scheduled during "non-prime" times of the day.

In spite of how much we would like to, squeezing late or walk-in-patients into the schedule causes us to run into another patient's appointment. We will offer to let the patient wait for an opening that may occur, but sometimes it may not be until the end of the day; therefore it may be easier to reschedule.

All failed or late appointments must be rescheduled within one week of the original appointment. To wait for another "prime" time appointment is not in the best interest of treatment. Since this is not a very popular option, every effort should be made to keep the original appointment and be on time. While we try to work around school schedules, we cannot always do so with after school activities.

Your understanding regarding scheduling is greatly appreciated, for we do not feel we can make an exception for one person. Please remember we are trying to be fair to everyone.

Insurance

Our office is committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits. Because insurance policies vary, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. We do accept direct payment for insurance. If you have insurance, we will contact your insurance company to find out what is available for orthodontic treatment. It is usually a lifetime benefit, which is paid out in the form of a down payment and monthly payments thereafter. Once we know what percentage of the treatment your insurance company will cover, including the down payment, we can calculate your monthly payments. Accepting insurance is a courtesy that we extend to our patients. If you have any questions, our courteous staff is always available to answer them.
